It’s my birthday today. 33. June 29, 1972. NYU hospital, New York City.
True story: a girl once said to me, "You were born on June 29? That’s such a nothing day."
"When were you born?" I asked.
"August 3rd," she said.
From "Taxi Driver": "June twenty-ninth. I gotta get in shape. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight."
Hey, and Christ was resurrected when he was 33, right? OK! It’s going to be a good year.

Let me be the first to say Happy Birthday and welcome to the world of the 33-year-olds, a world in which I live as well.
Happy birthdate!
I thought about Jesus a lot in my 33rd year, in mostly unreligious ways, and nothing happened -hey, but that was me.
Happy birthday! Oh man, this is too rich. My wife sez I can't be trusted to go birthday present shopping because I always end up buying something for myself. And here it is, your birthday, and what did I do? Yup, bought Oscar Caliber Gun for myself this past week.
But maybe that's like a present for both of us.
Many happy returns, and may 33 be three times as good as turning 11.
Happy Birthday, man. June 29 a nothing date?!? Seychelles became independent from England on this day in 1976! I mean, what the fuck?!?
Happy (belated) Birthday, Henry.
Happy Birthday dude!
How can anyone say the 29th is such a 'nothing day'? It's the day you came into the world, and that's something!
I would have bitch slapped her.
Thanks, everyone. My major gift: I got a nice retro desk from my wife. I’ve been working on a card table for two years. I have drawers! Man needs a desk. Also got XTC "Black Sea" and a Cuban meal. A good birthday.
Happy Belated Birthday Henry!!! :)
Seeking counsel from elders seems to be a lost advantage. Experience usually translated into lessons learned that may contain pearls of wisdom that could have benefited the lost or struggling. Having survived my share of crises, I am using technology to share a thought or two. The main lesson is to never stop learning. Reading and seeking other points of view like visiting your blog is one way. Finding what is ultimately important leads one to appreciate actuality, efficiency and mindfulness. Helping others to see some of the forest through the trees is a benefit of age and maturity. selflessness
