Dad

While I’m posting stuff my dad wrote, he also wrote these movies:

Carny

At one point when I was a kid, I hung around with Jodi Foster. I have an autographed picture of her. She calls me a "Turquey." I have also peed in Robbie Robertson’s (The Band) bed. Man, my Hollywood kid credentials are intact.

Also, my dad wrote a precursor to "A Nightmare on Elm Street." He actually ended up working with Wes Craven on a TV show called "Nightmare Café." My mom once had a meeting with Quentin Tarantino. He said, excitedly, "Your husband wrote ‘The Sender’? I’ve made my own copy using the TV edit." A true film freak. It’s an obscure horror movie:

The Sender

I like the way you write. Thanks for the site. I found it through weird events. Well, I'm gonna go look around some more. Happy birthday too.

I wonder if you have adressed the "why are there no females in your fav lists" question.

I'm starting to have weird thoughts and have even begun to agree with that wacky guy from save the males! help! You seem even-tempered and balanced in your opinion. (yep, i'm even a bit jealous of the the streio typed Victorian...)

Happy 4th of July!

i dug your link list a lot! thanks.

ever go to Ran Prieur's site? (good eco-doom stuff)

"If the history of the human race began at midnight, then we would now be almost at the end of our first day. We lived as hunter-gatherers for nearly the whole of that day, from midnight through dawn, noon, and sunset. Finally, at 11:54 p. m. we adopted agriculture. As our second midnight approaches, will the plight of famine-stricken peasants gradually spread to engulf us all? Or will we somehow achieve those seductive blessings that we imagine behind agriculture’s glittering façade, and that have so far eluded us?"

Your dad wrote Carny? That's fucking awesome. What I would give to have hung out with Carny-era Jodie Foster!!!

Have you heard her singing "La Vie C'est Chouette" from her nymphette role in the French movie Moi Fleur Bleu? It's priceless. Lemme know if you want me to send it your way.

Thanks for coming by, Lobstar. I told my dad about this comment and he laughed. I want to hear the Jodi Foster song, though I haven’t seen the movie. I also want to hear the Bugsy Malone soundtrack which I loved when I was a kid. I haven’t seen the movie since then but I have a feeling it’s pretty perverse.
