Does anyone know how to use Photoshop and is feeling generous? I’ve been trying to clean up this image…and failing. It needs to be 1704 x 460 pixels and white instead of gray. After obsessing incessantly it still looks crappy.

I think I may go with this one instead:

bluenorth

Not as thematically cool as the one with the sun, but it’ll be easier to clean up. I've been married to the despeckle and blur commands. A little bit late in the game to be dealing with this, but I’m no graphic designer so this is taking me a while.

I'm no photoshop expert, but you might have gathered I'm more fond of blue-yellow combinations, anyway. Heh.

After resizing try playing about with levels and curves found under Images->Adjustments on the menu.

Henry, this has nothing to do with your post, but I thought you might be interested in this:

http://www.lulublookerprize.com/

I don't quite follow it completely, but if I understand it correctly, God's Wife could be a "blook" for purposes of that prize. Except a "blook" must be in bound form (self-publishing permitted).

Anyway, I thought of God's Wife when I saw it.

And I don't know crap about Photoshop.

I played around with vectorizing it in Inkscape, then you can scale it up without losing wuilty -- though the vectorization makes it look a little stylized and "cartoony"...let me know if I should send it to you.

Thanks for the input.

Spiral, I saw that blooker prize. I don't think I'm going to put God's Wife into printed form just yet. I was glad to see Lulu.com is part of something like that.

Steve, I mean, Drum. Thanks for tinkering with it. I'm half-employed now so I spent much of yesterday cleaning up the top image. If it still doesn't look good, it'll be another review copy, and I'll go with the blue one.
